At this writing, I am now home and three weeks post transplant and doing extremely well. My blood work has all returned to normal and the liver and my kidneys are working great. I’m on medication of course for rejection and stuff but that is going very well too. They are already titrating my dosages downward so that soon I will be taken the very minimum.

After the surgery, my main concern was what the pathology report would show on my old liver. Everyone sort of suspected that it was worse than we thought, but when we got the report, everything was actually better. I was totally in criteria with only the one tumor and with no vascular invasion. I sent the report up to Shands and the Doctor that saw me emailed me and said he was glad he was wrong!

Based on everything I have read and been told, I have a normal life span ahead of me provided I don’t get hit by a bus. I will continue to see my surgeons and my oncologist and follow their advice carefully and I want to tall my friends and relatives for their support and good wishes.
